Going Pro. Big Pro.

I am using my iPad Pro 9.7 from 2016 for several years now and I love it. I got it in 2017 when I extended my contract with my mobile carrier. At this time I didn‘t need a new phone so I grabbed the iPad.

Now as this baby has been paid in full and also got outdated I thought it was time to upgrade. My carrier offered the 12.9“ iPad Pro from 2018 even 50 bucks cheaper than you can order it from Apple directly. My device is the iPad Pro 2018 12.9“ with 256GB memory and LTE. I wanted the 12.9“ since it‘s introduction in 2015.

Currently I am trying to find ways to replace my MBP for simple tasks like surfing, email, blogging and consuming all kinds of media. So far it works out well. To add mouse support, go to settings, accessability, touch, assistive touch. This brings up a small helper icon on the screen - which sucks - but enables you to use a Bluetooth mouse to control the device.

Sure, I used the iPad before for all those tasks. Now with the bigger screen and an external keyboard attached via Bluetooth I am trying to take a step forward. I don‘t want to spend 220 bucks for the Apple Smart Folio cover with keyboard. I may buy the Logitech Folio instead for half the price. Fortunately I have spare Bluetooth keyboard with macOS/iOS layout that I attached to it. The keyboard isn‘t great but it works.

I put a glass protection on it and also got a cheap magnetic cover from Amazon. Both were about 19 bucks and are very well crafted. You do not need to get an Apple-endorsed accessory.

I am still testing and if you find typos in this post then blame it on the external keyboard. Cool
